The Dani is one of the tribes located in Wamena, Papua, Indonesia. Other tribes of the region, among others, Yali and Lani. Yali tribe is one of the tribes inhabiting the southern border between Wamena and Merauke, while the Lani tribe inhabiting the western part of the Dani tribe. All three of these tribes have their respective characteristics in terms of culture, customs, and language.
Baliem own new existence surfaced in the 1930s, with a report stating that there are a bunch of primitive tribes that live in the valley. About 10 years later, the valley is isolated from foreign influence is increasingly known by the outside world, after the National Geographic magazine put the valley on the world map in magazine publications.
